Thursday, October 21, 2021 10:00am to 11:00am

Learn more about the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Certification

If you are a women or minority owned small business in the fields of transportation, construction, or A&E, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program with the U.S. Department of Transportation may help your business win more contracts.

This program requires state and local agencies to award a certain percentage of federally funded transportation project dollars to DBE firms and increases their likelihood of winning prime and subcontracts with agencies such as Caltrans, BART, California High-Speed Rail Authority, and countless other transportation agencies.

Join Norcal PTAC Procurement Specialist and former Manager of Business Diversity Programs at Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, Liz Brazil for a walk through the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification process step by step. Learn whether this certification is a good fit for your business and what the advantages and disadvantages are of getting certified. We’ll also discuss certification requirements, and tips and tricks for submitting a successful application.

Webinar Topics Include:

  • Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) overview
  • Certification requirements
  • DBE Work Codes
  • Advantages and disadvantages of being certified
  • Step-by-step application instructions
  • Common pitfalls to avoid during the process
  • How to utilize Women’s Business Center resources
