Women in Construction Week 2024: Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Certification Deep Dive

View Presentation Slides Here

If you are a women- or minority-owned small business in the fields of transportation, construction, or A&E, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program with the U.S. Department of Transportation may help your business win more contracts.

This program requires state and local agencies to award a certain percentage of federally funded transportation project dollars to DBE firms and increases their likelihood of winning prime and subcontracts with agencies such as Caltrans, transportation, and local agencies.

Join us for a walk through the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification process step by step. We’ll also discuss certification requirements, and tips and tricks for submitting a successful application.

Women in Construction Week takes place during the first full week in March every year. It is a time to highlight all the great initiatives and work of women within the industry. Likewise, it is a time that brings to the fore the opportunities that are available to women in construction. Women in Construction Week traces the history of women in construction, their challenges, and the ways they’ve been able to overcome them. We celebrate Women In Construction week to appreciate the women who have taken the bold step to enter the construction industry and also to encourage those willing to make similar commitments.
